Project description | Project description The project involved upgrading Microsoft Office 2016 to either Microsoft Office 2021 or Microsoft apps for Business, implementing a solution for Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade, and utilizing SCCM Task sequence for Windows 11 deployment to devices. Testing: Comprehensive test scenarios were conducted for both Windows 11 upgrade and Microsoft Office upgrade to ensure system reliability and compliance with business requirements. User testing was carried out with a selected test group for both Windows 11 and Office upgrades, and any identified issues were addressed before the implementation concluded. The project was successfully executed in accordance with the set objectives. The following main activities were carried out to upgrade the client environment and implement Windows 11 and the latest Microsoft Office versions: Windows 11 Upgrade: Windows 10 clients could be upgraded either with SCCM upgrade Task sequence for Windows 11 22H2 or via Intune Windows 10 or later update ring. The customer could manage deployment themselves using AD group for SCCM upgrade Task sequence and AAD group for Intune/CO managed devices. Creation of Window 11 SCCM task Sequence was done to enable the customer to deploy Windows 11 on their devices. Microsoft Office Upgrade: Creation of Microsoft apps for Business and Office 2021 LTSC applications in SCCM, where PSADT was used to create applications in SCCM. Creation of Visio and Project applications compatible with the Microsoft apps for Business application. Creation of AD groups and SCCM Collection to control which Office installation gets automatically updated for users, as well as managing license distribution. Deployment plan for when and who should be updated, where deployment of both Microsoft Office 2021 and Microsoft apps for Business was conducted on a smaller test group and then rolled out to predefined groups. Task Sequence for Windows 11 Deployment: A new Task Sequence was implemented for Windows 11, enabling the customer to deploy Windows 11 to new devices or reinstall on existing ones. |

Testing: Comprehensive test scenarios were conducted for both Windows 11 upgrade and Microsoft Office upgrade to ensure system reliability and compliance with business requirements. User testing was carried out with a selected test group for both Windows 11 and Office upgrades, and any identified issues were addressed before the implementation concluded. The project was successfully executed in accordance with the set objectives. The following main activities were carried out to upgrade the client environment and implement Windows 11 and the latest Microsoft Office versions: Windows 11 Upgrade: Windows 10 clients could be upgraded either with SCCM upgrade Task sequence for Windows 11 22H2 or via Intune Windows 10 or later update ring. The customer could manage deployment themselves using AD group for SCCM upgrade Task sequence and AAD group for Intune/CO managed devices. Creation of Window 11 SCCM task Sequence was done to enable the customer to deploy Windows 11 on their devices. Microsoft Office Upgrade: Creation of Microsoft apps for Business and Office 2021 LTSC applications in SCCM, where PSADT was used to create applications in SCCM. Creation of Visio and Project applications compatible with the Microsoft apps for Business application. Creation of AD groups and SCCM Collection to control which Office installation gets automatically updated for users, as well as managing license distribution. Deployment plan for when and who should be updated, where deployment of both Microsoft Office 2021 and Microsoft apps for Business was conducted on a smaller test group and then rolled out to predefined groups. Task Sequence for Windows 11 Deployment: A new Task Sequence was implemented for Windows 11, enabling the customer to deploy Windows 11 to new devices or reinstall on existing ones. |

Previous teams, projects, and collections were migrated to a new platform consisting of new TFS 15 with new Build, Application, and Search Tier servers. Various plugins were installed on the Build servers, and groups were created to manage each team project or newly created project via AD groups. The solution was documented to ensure proper understanding and management of the new TFS environment. |

Implementation of a new Task Sequence for Windows 10. Setup of a new Primary Site, Management Point, and 3 Distribution Points. Automation of Patch Management for clients and servers. Upgrade of BIOS and TPM chip using a PowerShell software package. Creation and deployment of applications and packages. Implementation of a Windows 10 Servicing plan. These tasks ensured that the SCCM environment was upgraded to the latest version and configured to effectively manage software deployment, updates, and patch management for clients and servers. |
